Pintrax Golf

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This policy explains what data Pintrax collects, why, who can see it, and how you can control it. Pintrax is provided by Pintrax Golf Ltd ("we", "us"), the controller of your personal data. Pintrax Golf Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17518478). Registered office: 3rd Floor, Old Stock Exchange, St Nicholas Street, Bristol, BS1 1TG, United Kingdom. If you have questions, contact support@pintraxgolf.com.

Information we collect

  • Account information: your name, email address, and password (handled by our authentication provider, which means we never see your password in plain text).
  • Profile information you choose to add: handicap, home golf club, bio, location (as you type it), longest drive, your equipment (My Bag), and a profile photo.
  • Your game and practice answers: your target handicap, how often you can practise, the practice facilities you have access to, your best area and the main area you want to improve, and the other choices you make during setup. You can change these at any time in Profile → Your Game.
  • Golf activity: rounds you log or track live (scores, hole-by-hole results, fairways hit, greens in regulation, putts, penalties, and similar stats, or for a past round, how you remember playing), notes you add to holes, the golfers you tag as playing partners, rounds and tee times you schedule, games you post or join, practice sessions, and practice plans.
  • Mental game: the reminders you write and the reflections you record after rounds, including how confident you felt and what you would most like to improve.
  • Progress: the badges you earn, the dates you earned them, and your progress on monthly challenges.
  • Content you post: reels (photos and videos), drafts, captions, comments, likes, saves, and the golfers you follow on Reels.
  • Social data: friend connections, friend requests, messages you send within the app, rounds you share, and golfers you block or report.
  • Subscription information: whether you have Pintrax Premium, any free trial or promotional access, founding member status, and referral codes. Payments are handled by Apple or Google; we never receive your card details.
  • Feedback and reports: anything you send us through Send Feedback, and reports you make about content or users.
  • Error reports: if something goes wrong in the app, we record the error message, technical details, and the screen it happened on, linked to your account, so we can fix it.
  • Location: only if you turn on "Share My Location", we store an approximate (rounded) location so we can show you nearby golfers and courses. You can turn this off at any time, which deletes the stored location.
  • Device permissions: if you enable push notifications, we store a device token so we can deliver alerts. If you allow camera or photo access, we only use the photos and videos you choose to upload.
  • Phone calendar: if you turn on "Sync Busy Days", the app reads your device calendar on your phone to mark which days you're busy. Only that busy/free information is used, it stays on your device, and event titles, locations, notes, and attendees are never read into Pintrax or sent to us.

How we use your information

  • To provide the core features of the app: tracking your rounds and stats, estimating your handicap, building practice plans around your answers and your recent rounds, awarding badges, and running monthly challenges.
  • To let you connect with other golfers: friends, messages, reels, finding games, and sharing rounds.
  • To show you approximate distance to nearby golfers and courses, only if you've opted in to location sharing.
  • To send notifications and emails you've opted into, such as friend requests, round invites, tee time reminders, and email summaries, plus essential account emails like confirming your email address or resetting your password.
  • To provide Pintrax Premium: checking your subscription, free trial, or promotional access so the right features are unlocked.
  • To keep the app safe and working: enforcing blocks, reviewing reports of inappropriate content, preventing abuse (for example, rate-limiting lookups), and using error reports and feedback to fix problems.

What other golfers can see

  • Your profile (name, photo, home club, bio, and handicap if you've chosen to show it) is visible according to your visibility setting: Public, Friends Only, or Private.
  • Your friends can also see how many rounds you've logged, your friends and games counts, your list of friends, your target handicap, how often you practise, your best area, what you're working on (your active practice plan's title, or your main area to improve), and the badges you've earned.
  • Your reels and anything you post are visible to the audience you choose when you post.
  • If you share a round, the people you share it with see a summary: the course, date, score, fairway and greens percentages, putts, and your name and photo. If you create a share link, anyone with that link can see the same summary until you revoke the link.
  • Never shown to anyone else: your mental game reminders and reflections, hole notes, your hole-by-hole scorecards, your practice plan's details, your messages (except to the people you're messaging), your subscription, and your email address.

Who we share it with

  • We don't sell your data, and we don't use advertising or analytics trackers.
  • We use a small number of service providers to run the app, each acting on our instructions: Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage), Vercel (hosting), Resend (sending emails), Google Firebase and Apple Push Notification service (delivering push notifications), and RevenueCat (managing subscriptions and free trials).
  • Subscription purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their own terms and privacy policies.
  • Golf course details come from a third-party course data provider. We only send it the course you're looking up, never information about you.

Your rights and choices

  • You can download a full export of your data at any time from Settings → Account Data → Download My Data.
  • You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Account Data → Delete My Account.
  • You can edit your profile, and your game and practice answers in Profile → Your Game, at any time.
  • You can control your profile's visibility (Public, Friends Only, or Private), whether your handicap is shown, whether you appear in nearby search and suggestions, whether you share your location, and which notifications you receive, all from Settings.
  • You can turn off calendar, camera, photo, location, and notification access at any time in your phone's settings.
  • You can revoke a round share link, block or report another user, or remove a friend at any time.
  • If you're in the UK or EU, you have rights under data protection law to access, correct, delete, or object to how we use your data, and to complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office). Contact us and we'll respond within one month.

Data retention

  • We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is permanently removed, aside from anything we're legally required to retain (for example, records relating to purchases).

Children

  • Pintrax is not directed at, and should not be used by, anyone under the age of 16.

Changes to this policy

  • We may update this policy as the app changes. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do.
